Mandela and Pericles

1. "So and such they were, these men-worthy of their city. We who remain behind may be hope to be spared their fate, but must resolveto keeep the same daring spirit against the foe."
" Today's occassion speaks of our resolve to preserve the memories of our heros and heroines; to keep alive the flame of pariotism which burnt in the hearts and minds of those like Steve Biko."
Biko and the soliders both had to keep their spirits up and fight for those they loved and what they believed in, that's what they have in common.
2. Biko was a dreat example of a hero that fought to keep South Africa a properous nation, which was Mandela's hope to accomplish for his country: Forging a new and properous nation.
